Madeira in Portugal was named 'Leading Island Destination', Hong Kong was named 'Best Route', Cape Town was named 'Leading Festival', Europcar was named 'Leading Global Transport Solutions Company', Norwegian Cruise Line was named 'Leading Cruise Line', and YAS Waterworld was named 'Best Waterpark'.
The World Travel Awards are being held for the 25th time. The award has the unofficial status of the tourism Oscar. The award is presented every year based on the results of a general vote.
