Simferopol airport passenger traffic reached 3,000,000 people

The new Simferopol Airport terminal has served 3,000,000 passengers since it opened on April 16, according to the airport's press service.

The republic's new hub serves up to 30,000 passengers per day. Rossiya Airlines has become the leader, carried 654,435 passengers on its flights. Aeroflot and Ural Airlines are in second and third place with a combined 1,643,412 passengers.

The press service also notes that families with children are the most frequent travelers to Crimea. Since April 16, 2018, the new terminal has served more than 412,328 guests under 12 years of age.

The new airport terminal can handle 3,650 passengers per hour and 6,500,000 passengers per year. It is equipped with 55 check-in counters, eight mobile jetways, and eight exits to the apron buses.

As TURIZM.RU previously reported, 5,000,000 people visited the Crimean Peninsula by the end of August. In 2018, tourist arrivals increased by a million compared to the previous year. In addition to transport accessibility, the season's success was driven by good weather and accommodation prices at 2017 levels.
