TURIZM.RU has compiled a ranking of cities worth visiting for culinary delights. The research was based on traveler reviews published on the site.
TURIZM readers gave the palm to the French capital. Which is fair, because Dishes of the national cuisine have long been a treasure of global gastronomy. Aromatic onion soup with crispy croutons, veal tartare on black bread toast, crumbly gratin with Gruyère cheese—all of these are now served in many restaurants around the world. However, these classic dishes are a must-try in Paris.
In second place is the eternal city of Rome. Exploring the main attractions—the Colosseum and Forum, the Vatican, and the Pantheon—is best left for later. While in the city, you absolutely must try those authentic dishes: spaghetti Amatriciana with pancetta and tomato sauce, pappardelle Bolognese with fresh rosemary and pecorino cheese, lasagna with ricotta, mozzarella, and béchamel sauce, and dozens of other delicious dishes, including the inimitable gelato flavored with yogurt and cherries.
Third in the ranking is St. Petersburg. The appearance of the northern capital on the list of the world's "most delicious" cities came as a big surprise to us.
