At the beginning of the year, the ministry predicted a tourist flow of 17 million. It will no longer be possible to reach this figure. However, the authorities are optimistic about 2019 and expect to receive 20 million foreigners. In addition, experts from the Ministry of Tourism are confident that the government cannot avoid natural disasters, but it can develop preventive measures.
In 2017, Indonesia was visited by over 110,000 Russians. Most of them vacationed on the resort island of Bali. In January-September 2018, the number of Russian citizens visiting Indonesia was 91,500 people. The opening of a direct flight from Moscow to Denpasar, operated by Aeroflot, and visa-free stays for up to 30 days are intended to increase the flow of tourists from Russia.
