Turkish hotels ready to defend their image

Umman Çetinbaş, director of the Crystal Hotel chain in Turkey, issued an open letter denying reports of children being infected with the Coxsackie virus and expressing his willingness to legally defend his image.

The letter states that one of the Russian television Channel One aired a report about children at the Crystal Hotel in Turkey being sick with the Coxsackievirus. The report was based on a review posted on an online travel forum.

U. Çetinbaş stated that to date, no cases of children becoming infected with the virus have been recorded at any Crystal Hotels Resort & Spa. The hotels conduct ongoing quality and safety checks throughout the season. Furthermore, the Crystal chain reserves the right to legally protect its image from misleading reports and news, the letter emphasizes.

As a reminder, early last week, news and posts began appearing in the media and on social media about an increase in cases of Coxsackievirus infection among Russian tourists vacationing in Turkey. Turkey denies rumors of an outbreak.
