Rome has named the 100 best restaurants, taverns, and pizzerias in the Italian capital. All of them have made it into the latest edition of the popular restaurant guide I Cento, according to Repubblica.
The Imàgo restaurant, located in Rome's Hotel Hassler, has been voted the best in the city. This is the conclusion reached by the editors of the restaurant guide I Cento, chefs Federico de Cesaro Viola and Luciano Squadrilli, who studied more than a hundred establishments in the capital.
The guide includes 50 top restaurants in Rome featuring the finest cuisine and world-class chefs, as well as 50 popular everyday spots, including trattorias, taverns, pizzerias, and street food. Only luxury restaurants were ranked.
Also among the best were the two-Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant Il Pagliaccio, the luxurious La Pergola on the roof of the Rome Cavalieri Hotel, featuring contemporary Metamorfosi design, and Pascucci al porticciolo, renowned for its risotto and a wide variety of first-class dishes.
Although no rankings were given for "everyday" establishments, the guide's authors awarded several honorable mentions. Zia Restaurant, with its relatively affordable prices and young chefs, was named Best New Restaurant. Osteria Fratelli Mori, perfect for a family dinner, was named Best Traditional Italian Restaurant. The title of "Best Tavern" went to Da Enzo al 29, which serves exclusively Italian cuisine.
TripAdvisor previously named the pizzeria "N'Ata Cosa" in Rende the best in Italy. Among the virtues attributed to this Calabrian establishment is its excellent opportunity to try "authentic Neapolitan pizza" outside of Naples.
