In the film "What Men Talk About," four friends leave their wives at home and go on a trip. Along the way, they discuss all sorts of topics: from midlife crises to women. The travel service Tutu.ru studied where men's groups go on vacation (when in one (ordering a minimum of three male passengers).
The study found that men most often fly in groups, either on shift work or to regions with popular hunting and fishing. They are especially rare on international trips. If a group of men does fly abroad, they prefer to fly as package tours. All airline tickets and package tours sold for a year (from February 2018 to February 2019) where at least three men were included in the booking were analyzed.
Russian cities where men most often fly in groups:
The oil workers' settlement of Talakan tops the list, followed by Apatity in the Murmansk region, one of the key cities on the Kola Peninsula. The city attracts hikers, fishermen, and skiers. Rounding out the top three is Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the capital of Kamchatka Krai, which is renowned among hunting and extreme sports enthusiasts (for example, Tutu.ru offers a custom tour called "A Trip to the Bears of Kamchatka").
Another ten cities that didn't make the top 10, but where men's groups also like to go, are Astrakhan, Grozny, Penza, Perm, Omsk, Arkhangelsk, Kirov, Khabarovsk, Kazan, and Yekaterinburg.
Foreign cities where men most often fly in groups:
Among the top 10 international destinations, no European cities made it into the top 10. And six of the 10 were cities in Uzbekistan. China, however, tops the list. Apparently, men fly abroad with groups either to work or to visit their families.
Tours to Barcelona, bustling Pattaya, Heraklion, Goa, Sochi, and Antalya are popular among men's groups. However, men are more likely to travel with their significant others, so these tours aren't purchased as often.
