Thai long-haul low-cost airline NokScoot has announced it is ceasing operations. The carrier, which had been experiencing financial problems for some time, came to the conclusion that it would not be able to recover from the drop in demand caused by the coronavirus epidemic, reports Travel.ru's own correspondent.
NokScoot lasted for five years, flying Boeing 777s from Bangkok to various cities in Asia, primarily China and Japan. It was a joint venture between another Thai airline, Nok Air, and Singapore-based carrier Scoot.
Passengers and tourists planning to travel anywhere in the coming months should weigh the necessity and the possibility of traveling many times. For most airlines, there is still a fairly high risk of cancellation of any flights at the last minute due to low occupancy or decisions by some authorities. In addition, in a number of regions of Russia, quarantines are still in effect for tourists entering there, turning travel into fiction. Before any trip, you should double-check the rules in force at your destination - they can change at any time without any prior notice. In addition to quarantines, the rules in various regions may now include bans on leaving home or hotels for most reasons, requirements to wear masks, have local passes, negative coronavirus tests, etc. Finally, the risk of contracting the virus increases significantly during the trip.
