Another statement regarding the launch of charter flights between Russia and Egypt was made on Tuesday, July 23: according to Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov, this issue could be resolved in the near future.
“Work on two projects is now nearing completion. the main airports that served tourists in the resort areas of Egypt. We hope that in the very near future final agreements will be reached on the resumption of flights, at least charter flights to these resort areas," Bogdanov said, Interfax reports.
And here it is worth noting that on the same day it became known that the State Duma ratified the Russian-Egyptian Treaty on Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation, signed by the presidents of the two countries back in October 2018.
The agreement is intended to promote the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Egypt in trade, economic, investment, energy, scientific, technical, cultural, educational, sports and other areas of mutual interest. In addition, according to the document, the parties will support the development of relations in the field of tourism.
According to observers, ratification of the agreement may well speed up the issue of launching charters to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh. However, this time too, it is not possible to speak about this with 100% certainty.
"Yes, it cannot be ruled out that charters will fly this year. But on the other hand, how many similar statements and forecasts have we heard over all these years? The market has long since cooled towards the Egyptian issue," says one of the experts.
