Accommodations with more than 50 rooms in the Krasnodar Krai must be classified for star ratings by July 1. To date, 450 hotels and inns have already been awarded stars, according to the press service of the Ministry of Resorts, Tourism, and Olympic legacy of the Krasnodar Territory.

"In the region, more than 450 accommodation facilities with over 50 rooms have already been awarded 'stars.' Another 90 similar facilities are currently undergoing the classification process," said Svetlana Balayeva, Minister of Resorts, Tourism, and Olympic Heritage of the Krasnodar Region.
As the department noted, more than 540 hotels, motels, and other accommodation facilities must be classified by July 1.
As a reminder, the law on mandatory hotel classification in Russia was adopted in February of last year. According to the document, classification was to become mandatory for hotels with more than 50 rooms starting July 1, 2019, for hotels with more than 15 rooms starting January 1, 2020, and for all other hotels starting January 1, 2021.
We would also like to add that, starting January 1, 2020, hotels will be prohibited from providing services without a certificate of classification. Violation of this law will entail administrative liability for hotels with more than 50 rooms. Violators will also be subject to a fine of 30,000 to 50,000 rubles if their advertising uses false information about a hotel's classification.
In addition, it was previously reported that the Ministry of Economic Development has opened a hotline for hoteliers, where they can ask questions about hotel classification.
