Emirates cancels third Dubai-Moscow flight and removes Airbus A380 from other two

Emirates Airlines has cancelled the third Dubai-Moscow flight introduced at the end of last year. It has also removed its most capacious aircraft, the Airbus A380, from its remaining routes, Travel.ru's own correspondent reports.

The last measure is temporary: the Airbus A380 will return in the autumn, at the beginning of the high-demand period, for the evening flight (at 16.15 from Dubai and at 23.20 from Moscow). The Boeing 777 will remain on the daytime route.

However, the restoration of the third flight, as well as the return of the Airbus A380 to the second flight, is not planned yet. The third flight has been cancelled since the beginning of the summer. “This decision was made as part of Emirates’ regular review of operational activities to ensure the best use of capacity to effectively serve customers on our route network. We systematically evaluate our operating schedules to meet seasonal trends and change flight frequencies in line with market demand. We are committed to the Russian market and will continue to serve our customers in Moscow and St. Petersburg with 21 flights per week,” the company told Travel.ru.

Let us recall that Emirates also sells tickets for two daily flydubai flights on the same route. Thus, in total, Emirates offers four flight options per day - two from Domodedovo on its own flights and from Vnukovo on flydubai. The latter has also closed some of its Russian routes for the summer.
