A number of experts believe that there is a high probability of Egypt opening for the upcoming winter season. Travel agencies told us about tourists' interest in the destination and their expectations.
General Director of the travel agency "Chic Travel Kursk" Vladimir Konev:
"There is no obvious demand for Egypt. Although tourists remember this destination with nostalgia when booking tours to other countries. But they understand that there will still be no freebies of 15 thousand per person, even if charters are opened. No one asks specifically. This is good on the one hand, because people have tried other countries "for taste". I think that there will be no widespread excitement in the event of the opening of charter or at least direct transportation to resorts."
General Director of the travel agency "Magic of Travel" (Zheleznodorozhny) Irina Sidina:
"Many people want and ask about Egypt, but everyone is waiting for charters and prices that were before. We really hope for charters to open in the winter, but this hope, unfortunately, is fading."
Head of the sales office of the Quadra network Alina Chikina (Moscow):
"There is interest in Egypt, but not actively. The cost of tours with flights on regular airlines exceeds tourists' expectations of the price of tours to Egypt. With early booking, you can fly to Thailand, Vietnam, the Dominican Republic on charters in the same price range. The likelihood of opening direct charter flights is doubtful, but anything is possible. We would be happy with such a development of events."
Director of UTA LLC (Tolyatti, Samara region) Yulia Pisareva:
"Clients are interested and ready to go, but they do not fully assess the real situation. Many hotels are closed and there is no such service now, and the prices are different. I was looking for a tour to Egypt for myself with a flight from the nearest Uralsk (charters are available in Kazakhstan), the cost of the trip was about three thousand dollars per family. I am not ready to pay that kind of money, I think many tourists are also in the same mood. Since everyone is used to the fact that Egypt is a very budget destination, and no one wants to overpay."
According to the survey OneTwoTrip, About 74% clients indicated that they would like to go to Egypt this fall or winter if charter flights open and tours start selling. At the same time, they are much less optimistic about the fulfillment of their wishes. Only 33% respondents expressed confidence that charters from Russia will start flying to Egyptian resorts in the coming months. Another 51% travelers doubt that the situation will change, and 16% are convinced that there will definitely be no charter flights to Egypt in the upcoming fall-winter season.
