After the reconstruction of the Philippine island, which lasted for half a year - from April 26 to October 26, the resort's room stock has significantly decreased. Only hotels that have received the appropriate permission from the island's authorities can now accommodate tourists. Before boarding the ferry, Tourists will be asked to present a hotel voucher.
Yesterday, the Philippine Embassy in Moscow hosted a presentation of the tourist opportunities of the renovated island of Boracay. The country's most popular resort was closed for half a year due to an environmental disaster that broke out there. Since October 26, Boracay has begun to welcome guests again. Carlos Sorreta, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Russia, spoke about this when opening the event.
The diplomat also noted that not all hotels on the island are open yet. And only those hotels that have received the appropriate permission will be able to accommodate tourists.
This will be strictly monitored: before leaving for the island, tourists will be asked for a hotel voucher. Therefore, if tourists book hotels, for example, through Booking.com, they must first find the hotel on the official list. Because on the same Booking.com you can book accommodation in a hotel that does not have permission.
Currently on the list of permitted hotels: Abozza Resort, Alamo Bay Inn
Aloe de Diniwid, Alta Briza Resort, Austrian Pension House and another 206 hotels.
The presentation also noted that the island has changed a lot since the reconstruction. Thus, noisy Ibiza-style parties, smoking and drinking alcohol in public places are prohibited on the island, and the prospects for casinos remain in great question – the country's president Rodrigo Duterte has spoken out against the development of the gambling business on Boracay. In general, vacations on the island have become more peaceful.
