Rostourism has warned Russian travelers about a dengue fever outbreak in the Philippines. A corresponding notice was published on the agency's website.

“According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, with reference to the Ministry According to the Philippine Health Ministry, an outbreak of dengue fever has occurred in the southeastern provinces of Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte (including the popular surfing island of Siargao), and Surigao del Sur in Mindanao. Philippine authorities are taking measures to contain the outbreak," the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm) stated.
They also emphasized that Russian tourists planning a trip to the Philippines in the coming months should take into account the risks of the disease and, if possible, refrain from visiting the provinces listed above.
"Tourists in the Philippines are advised to use personal protective equipment, such as window screens, tarps, long-sleeved clothing, insecticide-treated materials, and repellents. Upon returning, if they develop a fever, they are advised to inform their doctor of their stay in a country where there is a risk of dengue fever. Rostourism strongly urges tour operators offering tours to the Philippines to inform their clients of the unfavorable epidemiological situation in the country and the need to use personal protective equipment," the agency added.
