Since the beginning of the year, the tourist flow from Russia to Indonesia has grown by almost 20%

From October 2018 to November 2019 Rossiya Airlines carried more than 72,000 passengers and operated 232 flights on the Moscow-Denpasar route. As reported to the TRN portal in press service Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, the average flight load was 70%, while as the peak approaches autumn-winter season it has increased significantly - already in October on flights in this direction the maximum load reached 90–97%.

On November 19, a presentation of the direct Moscow-Denpasar flight took place in Moscow. According to the Ambassador of Indonesia to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus M. Wahid Supriyadi, the tourist flow from Russia is growing year after year. In 2017, the number of Russian tourists in Indonesia was 117,500 people, and in 2018 already 125,697 people (+7%). Meanwhile, in the period from January to September 2019, Indonesia has already been visited by 109,003 Russians, which is 19.1% more than for the same period in 2018 (91,544 people). In terms of the number of tourists in Indonesia, Russia ranks fifth among European countries after Great Britain, France, Germany and the Netherlands.

According to Mr. Ambassador, if the ambitious target of 162,000 Russian tourists this year by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism is achieved, then the growth will be about 100% since the 1st Indonesian Festival in 2016. The potential of the Russian tourism market for Indonesia is huge, and it is expected that direct regular flights from Moscow to Denpasar operated by Rossiya Airlines will further increase the flow of Russian tourists to Indonesia.

Ms. Agustini Rahayu, Director of Indonesian Tourism Development in Europe, representative of the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, told the meeting participants about the diversity of tourist destinations in Indonesia. Most Russian tourists travel only to Bali, but there are other equally beautiful places that are definitely worth visiting: Lake Toba (North Sumatra), Likupang (North Sulawesi), Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara), Mandalika (West Nusa Tenggara) and Borobudur (Central Java). This year, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism carried out a large-scale update of the official website Indonesia.travel, where a version for the Russian-speaking audience was created. Tourists and travel agents can now get acquainted with useful information on each destination, which will make it easier to work with any customer requests.

Let us add that in the autumn-winter season 2019/2020, flight SU6295 Moscow - Denpasar is operated three times a week: on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Departure time from Moscow is 01:45, and arrival time is 19:10 (local time). The return flight SU6296 from Denpasar departs at 20:55, arrival time is 05:25 (+1 day, local time).
