Iris Garden Opens in Florence

For just one month a year, the Iris Garden (Giardino dell'Iris) is open in Florence – the only botanical garden in Europe dedicated exclusively to irises. It contains dozens of varieties of irises from all over the world, a total of about 15 thousand flowers of various colors, with some varieties coming from ancient collections.

As Italy in Russian reports, in the Iris Garden you can stroll among the flower beds, sit by the pond created for growing aquatic irises, and admire Brunelleschi's dome against the backdrop of the Fiesole hill.

Admission to the Iris Garden, located near Piazzale Michelangelo, is free. Until May 20, the garden is open daily from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
