A new tourist route, the Honduran Coffee Route, has launched in Honduras, which will appeal to coffee lovers, according to Lonely Planet.
Honduras has launched a fantastic offer for tourists who can't imagine their life without the aromatic beverage. The coffee tour is taking place in Six regions of the country where the world's best coffee is grown. According to Emily Silvestri, Director of the Institute of Tourism, the new route will allow visitors to learn how to harvest coffee beans and turn them into an invigorating drink.
Tourists will be able to visit coffee farms and participate in a variety of activities that vary by region. The route includes tastings, learning about roasting and brewing methods, collecting seeds, and non-coffee-related activities such as hiking and birdwatching. Specifically, travelers will visit the Oplaka region, known for its distinctive coffee with hints of tropical fruit blended with grapes and berries. The program also includes a visit to a coffee research center. In the Copan region, visitors will explore two of the most famous farms: San Rafael and Fica Santa Alena. This region is renowned for its coffee with sweet notes of chocolate and caramel. Copan also offers an insight into the country's archaeology and architecture, as it is home to Mayan stone temples and altars. Copan is also home to Macaw Mountain Park, home to over 300 birds.
The route also includes the Montecillos region, home to the world-famous trading firm COMSA. Here, travelers will ascend to an altitude of 1,600 meters to visit the mountainous regions of Comayagua, El Paraiso, and Agaita.
The price of the Honduran Coffee Route tour has not yet been announced. Flights from Moscow to Honduras are only available via connecting flights, such as the United States, Spain, Panama, or Cuba. Russian tourists do not require a visa to enter the country for stays of up to 90 days.
