Egypt and Türkiye are the most popular destinations on the German market. The number of tours booked to Hurghada and Antalya is breaking all records, according to the FVW portal.
According to data from the travel agency Traveltainment and the OTA booking system, in May the demand for the Egyptian resort Hurghada grew by 65% compared to the same period last year. Sales volumes for this destination have been growing for several months now, with demand for travel packages also increasing double-digits in April.
Besides Egypt, German tourists are also heading to Turkey. Although only 81,000,000 more tours were booked in May than last year, Antalya's popularity increased exponentially in March and April—by 77,000,000, and 86,000,000, respectively. In the last month of spring, approximately 30,000,000 of all tours booked in Germany were to Antalya.
At the same time, European countries are experiencing a decline in the German market. Bookings to Mallorca, Spain, fell by 101%, while bookings to the Canary Islands fell by 91% to 191%. A similar situation occurred in Greece, despite the fact that demand for the destination had been increasing over the previous two years.
On average, Germans pay 858 euros per person for a travel package through a travel agency, and 687 euros on online platforms.
