Albania is once again abolishing visas for Russians. The simplified entry regime will come into effect on April 1. This is reported by the portal "Novosti Albania".
The Albanian government traditionally waives visas for Russians during the summer tourist season. In 2018 the visa-free regime for our tourists will be valid from April 1 to October 31. Interestingly, last year a similar decision came into force only on May 31. In addition to Russia, Albania's visa-free list includes countries such as Saudi Arabia, Belarus, Georgia, Qatar, Oman, Thailand, China and Bahrain. To enter the country, tourists from all these countries only need to present a foreign passport.
This year, Russians will be able to travel to Albania on charter flights for the first time. Flights between the capital of the state, Tirana, and Moscow will be operated by Ural Airlines. Flights are planned to be carried out once a week on Tuesdays from June 19 to September 11, 2018. The cost of tickets for the first flight with a return flight a week later, according to data from March 22, is 22,036 rubles without baggage.
It should be added that tours to Albania are gaining popularity, and the quality of holidays in this country is improving. Tourists will find clean beaches and mountain trails, as well as a rich archaeological heritage from the times of Ancient Greece and Rome. Popular resorts are Durres on the Adriatic coast, Vlora at the junction of the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, as well as Saranda, Shengjin and the resort area "Riviera of Flowers". The best time to visit the country is from April to June and from early September to October. The cost of 10-day tours to Albania in May starts from 66,142 rubles for two with accommodation in a 4-star hotel.
