Tunisia is back on the British tourist map just months after the Foreign Office lifted a travel ban on the North African country, reports The Telegraph.

Thomas Cook, one of the largest tour operators Britain resumed its tours to the country in February, three years after the terrorist attack that killed 38 people, including 30 Britons, shocked the world.
Search flights to Tunisia online, according to the company, increased by 790 percent in the day after the first flights resumed.
Egypt and Türkiye also suffered from a decline in tourist numbers, but are now seeing a surge in tourism thanks to safety concerns.
Thomas Cook Turkey Bookings increased by 84% year-on-year, making the European country the third most popular destination among the company's customers for summer 2018, along with Spain and Greece.
“In fact, Türkiye still has more orders than mainland Spain and the Canary Islands combined,” — the company’s report says.
“This summer, we are seeing a return of our tourists to their favorite destinations, which have been out of reach in recent years,” said Peter Farkhauser, CEO of Thomas Cook.
"Orders to Turkey and Egypt have grown strongly in the past year, and Tunisia, which has only recently opened up to the British, is now selling well," he added.
As for EgyptAccording to the tour operator, its potential in this country has almost reached the 2015 level.
"Hotel bookings on the Red Sea are now close to 2015 levels," states the tour operator's annual report. However, the company currently sells tours only to Hurghada and Marsa Alam.
