The Central Bank plans to ensure acceptance of Mir cards in foreign countries

Russian tourists may be able to pay in foreign countries with Mir cards. This was announced by the head of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina.

 

 

“The Mir card is accepted in the EAEU states [Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia], started in Turkey. We said last year that we were holding talks. The immediate plans include receiving tourists in far-abroad countries popular with tourists, expanding reception in the CIS countries," she said, TASS reports.

Let us recall that in April of this year, the network of one of the largest banks in Turkey, Is Bank, began accepting Mir cards. In addition, tourists can currently pay for purchases with a Russian card in Armenia. A number of transactions are also available in Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
