In February, the travel service Tutu.ru studied where male groups (those booking at least three male passengers) fly on vacation. Now, in March, it's time for women. The study showed that women most often fly to warm destinations with a seaside view within Russia. or attractions.
All airline tickets and travel packages sold for a year (from March 2018 to March 2019) where at least two women were included in the order were analyzed.
The most popular city among women is Gelendzhik. Although the Leningrad band's song "Gelendzhik" also sings about a wonderful man who took a woman to Gelendzhik, our research shows that women themselves love flying to this city.
Overall, the top four spots in the ranking of favorite women's destinations are occupied by southern cities: Gelendzhik, Sochi, Anapa, and Simferopol. Among non-southern resort towns, the top spots were occupied by the Golden Ring cities: Kostroma, Yaroslavl, and the city of brides, Ivanovo, Kaliningrad, and the capital of Kalmykia, Elista.
While male groups weren't particularly fond of European cities, things are different here. Nice tops the "women's top" list. Overall, most of the cities included in the ranking are European destinations (Nice, Tivat, Larnaca, Burgas, Venice, Lisbon, Budapest, and Rome). Female groups also frequently travel to Batumi and Tbilisi, with Batumi being more popular than Tbilisi. Incidentally, bachelorette party trips to Georgia are popular with custom tour organizers (for example, Tutu.ru offers a custom tour called "Travel Bachelorette Party in Georgia"). Shopping tours to Europe are also organized for the fairer sex. For example, there's a tour called "Fashionable Milan + Delicious Bologna" or "Italy Like a Movie."
Package holidays with friends are more popular among women than among men. Women's groups most often fly to Dubai, Tunisia, and Russia.
Let's recall the research on male companies:
The oil workers' settlement of Talakan tops the list, followed by Apatity in the Murmansk region, one of the key cities on the Kola Peninsula. The city attracts hikers, fishermen, and skiers. Rounding out the top three is Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the capital of Kamchatka Krai, which is renowned among hunting and extreme sports enthusiasts (for example, Tutu.ru offers a custom tour called "A Trip to the Bears of Kamchatka").
Among the top 10 international destinations, no European cities made it into the top 10. And six of the 10 were cities in Uzbekistan. China, however, tops the list. Apparently, men fly abroad with groups either to work or to visit their families.
