The tour operator Intourist's leaders in terms of requests for March 8 were Sochi, Crimea (Yalta), St. Petersburg, the Golden Ring, and Moscow. Among foreign destinations, Russians were most interested in Estonia, the Czech Republic, the UAE, Latvia, and Italy.
A significant portion of Russians are interested in ski tourism this spring. Within our country, fans of this type of recreation choose Sochi (Krasnaya Polyana) and Mineralnye Vody (Elbrus, Dombay), and abroad - Georgia.
"Many Russians choose travel as gifts for the fair half of humanity on March 8. They prefer cultural, educational and health tourism. It is no coincidence that the most popular domestic destinations this year include Moscow, Karelia, St. Petersburg, Crimea, Krasnodar and Stavropol Krais, while Estonia, the Czech Republic, Latvia and Italy are leading among foreign destinations. A positive trend this year, noted by market participants, was the increase in demand for tourist trips during the March holidays, which indicates an expansion of the range of high-quality and affordable offers on the Russian tourism market and an increase in the purchasing power of the population," says Oleg Safonov, Head of the Federal Tourism Agency.
