Entertainment for children in Prague

The main point of all walks with children is, of course, amusement parks. Next to the oceanarium and singing fountains there is a large park "Stromovka" and a planetarium.
Plan your visit to the park entertainment "Miraculum". This is a real fairy tale for both children and adults. About an hour's drive from Prague to the city of Milovice, and you are there. In "Miraculum" you will find above-ground and underground labyrinths, a castle with stairs and towers, an oasis and a water world, a trampoline and a rope center, a small zoo and much more. It will take a whole day to check out all the interesting locations of the park.
You can combine a trip to the Miraculum Park with a visit to the Hammer Center. Historical holidays and festivals, quests for children, and excursions “in the footsteps of history” for schoolchildren are often held here. Adults will have fun with extreme riding on a Hummer, children will practice archery or crossbow shooting, medieval bowling, and have fun on the playgrounds.
You can also spend time with your child in entertainment centers, of which there are many in Prague. For example, Funpark Giraffe has a zone for children, a 5-tier labyrinth with slides, a go-kart track and trampolines. There are also slot machines.
Hamleys is a real children's paradise. On one side it is a children's goods store, on the other - an amusement park. Children will definitely like it here.
Action Park offers a variety of outdoor activities. Have fun with your children. Choose from boomball, paintball, giant football darts, archery and more.

For water attractions, head to the Aquapalace Praha water park. An indoor pavilion with slides, pools and other attractions is open all year round, and in the summer there is an outdoor swimming pool area. The smaller AquaDream and Letňany Lagoon water parks are located in areas away from the tourist centre. You can also have fun here, but there is not as much variety of entertainment as in Aquapalace. But the Šutka aqua centre has a lot of interesting things: a 50 m long pool for adults, a heated pool, extreme slides for teenagers, indoor and outdoor, and a shallow pool for children. In good weather, an outdoor area with sun loungers is open.
In summer, take a ride in a zorb on the Vltava. Water zorbing in Prague is available on the Smetana embankment.
Want some thrills? Then you should go to Bobová dráha – a bobsleigh track. The descent reaches speeds of over 60 km/h. Children from 8 years old can slide down the track on their own, and visitors under this age are allowed to slide down in tandem with a parent.
A flight in a wind tunnel will also help to get your adrenaline pumping. Children from 6 years old are instructed and put on special suits. The air flow in the tube comes at a speed of 270 km/h and holds the child.
In the districts of Zličín and Jarov, there is a large trampoline park JumpPark Prague. More than 60 trampolines, a climbing wall, an obstacle course, a foam pit - a great set of entertainment for family recreation in Prague.

Prague for New Year with kids
Christmas tree on the Old Town Square
© Pavel Sh.
The magical charm of the Czech capital on the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays covers every tourist completely. Already at the beginning of November, the main streets and squares of Prague turn into a festive fair, and shop windows are full of souvenirs and other Christmas goods. Windows and balconies, doors and roofs of Czech houses are decorated with garlands. And, of course, decorated fir trees stand everywhere.
Show your child the main Christmas tree, installed on the Old Town Square, or a more modest tree near St. Vitus Cathedral. Another New Year's beauty stands on Wenceslas Square.
Once on the Charles Bridge, make a wish with your child by touching one of the statues. Your innermost wishes will definitely come true in the New Year.
Be sure to take a photo of your children with Mikulas, who walks around Prague on December 5th accompanied by an angel and a devil, giving gifts to children.
Fairs usually open around November 20th and run until the end of the holidays. Take a stroll with your children through the Christmas market on the Old Town Square, where in addition to the variety of fairs, you can also find other entertainment. The nativity scene is always lively. There are performances, circus performers, and puppet shows. Be sure to attend one of these with your child. Children will be delighted with the ceremony of lighting the main New Year's tree, so if you happen to be in Prague on New Year's, don't miss this event.
A 5-minute walk from the Old Town Square is Wenceslas Square, where a Christmas market is also open. You can also visit other Prague fairs with children - at Republic Square, Prague Castle, Peace Square, Palackého Square, Jiří Square, Havelská Market and on the outskirts of the city in Holešovice.
During Advent, children's performances are held in Prague's theatres. Visit the Puppet Theatre, the Estates Theatre, the Black Theatre. Many churches host festive concerts, which create an indescribable atmosphere.
On January 6, the streets of Prague will be filled with caroling, Epifan bonfires will be lit, and thus the Day of the Three Magi will be celebrated.
