IN The first Bible Museum in Scandinavia will display around 200 different sacred scriptures. The opening of the new museum is planned to take place in Oslo on May 31, 2018.
Biblical museums are considered very rare. In total, there are only a few such institutions There are only three in the world: in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Washington (USA) and Münster (Germany). Now a similar museum will appear in the center of the Norwegian capital. It will present many rare books. Among other things, the first Scandinavian Bible from 1541, which was published in Sweden, as well as the first Danish Bible edition from 1550. Some of the oldest Bibles are written on leather or parchment and date back to the beginning of the 13th century.
Visitors will see publications of various shapes, sizes and designs, with texts in Norwegian, Sami, Danish, Finnish, Swedish, Icelandic, Greenlandic and Faroese.
