
Summer sea service between Sochi and Batumi resumed on June 12. The journey from one resort to the other takes five hours, according to Sochi InformBureau.
Flights are operated on high-speed Kometa vessels. According to the schedule, trips from Georgia will be carried out Every Monday, with the return trip departing the following day. According to representatives of the operating company, Express Batumi, if demand is high, the frequency could increase to two per week.
The Kometa-class vessels accommodate 114 passengers. A trip from Batumi to Sochi costs 250 lari (approximately 6,400 rubles), and from Sochi to Batumi, up to 6,000 rubles. Tickets are available exclusively at the Sochi seaport ticket office. In 2017, the Kometa also operated between the resorts from June to September.
Russians do not require a visa to travel to Georgia for stays of up to 90 days. A valid passport is required for travel. Besides the Sochi-Batumi Kometa, you can also travel to Georgia by plane.
It should be noted that 473,200 Russian citizens visited Georgia from January to May. Last year, the same figure was 281,330 fewer. In May, the country welcomed approximately 116,000 guests from Russia. In total, Georgia welcomed over 2.6 million foreign tourists in the first five months of 2018.
