The AlfaStrakhovanie Analytical Center has compiled a list of countries where Russians traveling this summer most frequently experienced health problems and sought medical assistance from their insurance companies.
As the company told the TRN portal, the first place is Cyprus turned out to be in the top spot, with 161,000 applications from all insured persons, followed by Turkey in second place (131,000), Bulgaria in third place (11.51,000), Spain in fourth place (91,000), and Greece in fifth place (41,000).
Italy and Germany share sixth place (31% of the total). Vietnam is seventh (2.3% of the total), Montenegro is eighth (2.2% of the total), and Israel is ninth (2.1% of the total). Georgia rounds out the top ten (1.9% of the total). It is followed by the United States (1.7% of the total), China (1.6% of the total), and the UAE (1.3% of the total).
"Sales of international travel insurance policies from the beginning of 2018 reached approximately 5 billion rubles by mid-year. This year, Russians prefer Spain, Italy, and Bulgaria for independent travel," explained Anton Kolegov, chief underwriter of AlfaStrakhovanie's travel insurance department.
