According to the statistics department of the Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority, the number of nights booked by tourists from Russia in the first quarter of 2018 amounted to 7,515, which is 2.6% more than in 2017.
Positive dynamics of inbound tourism to Monaco Armenia also demonstrates this, showing a record increase in inbound traffic of 100,93%.
Although the overall percentage of overnight stays by tourists from the CIS, Georgia, and Russia increased by 0.471 TP3T compared to the first quarter of 2017, most countries showed negative dynamics. The number of overnight stays by tourists from Azerbaijan decreased by 5.261 TP3T, from Belarus by 5.521 TP3T, from Georgia by 41.881 TP3T, and from Kazakhstan by 28.391 TP3T, amounting to 72, 137, 93, and 169 overnight stays, respectively.
"As of 2018, Russians are the fifth-largest group of international visitors to Monaco. Russian tourists are second only to the French, British, Germans, and Americans. Monaco welcomes 7 million international tourists annually, 301,333 of whom are business travelers. Additionally, approximately 6.5 million tourists come to Monaco for day trips, and about 200,000 tourists arrive on cruise ships," says Deputy Director General of the Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority, Guy Antonelli.
