Israel Expects to Expand Flight Programs from Russian Regions

This year, 16 additional flights will be launched from Russia to the Israeli resort of Eilat. At the same time, as the head of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism in the CIS and the Russian Federation Vladimir Shklyar emphasized, the country intends to continue attracting Russian tourists from the regions, allocating additional subsidies for charter flights.

"We are currently working hard to increase the tourist flow from Russian regions. At the moment, there are 78 flights from seven Russian cities to Israel. And now there will be another 16 weekly flights to Eilat," he said, recalling that at the moment, Russian tour operators launching charters to Israel receive subsidies of 60 euros per person.

"We really hope that flights will open from new cities. The plans include launching flights from Kazan and Novosibirsk. On our part, we provide support - 250 thousand euros for flights from new cities, which is very attractive for airlines," said Vladimir Shklyar.

The head of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism in the CIS and the Russian Federation also noted that over the first 7 months of 2019, more than 219 thousand Russian tourists visited the country, which exceeded the figures for the same period last year by 4%. “Most often, guests fly to us from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk,” explained Vladimir Shklyar.
