The department called on tour operators to stop sales on the route.
Thus, according to the Rostourism report, Russian tourists should take precautions to prevent infection with the new coronavirus; take all necessary measures to ensure personal safety; do not leave the territory of hotel complexes and other places of temporary stay (accommodation), except in cases of organized transfer to the departure airport (departure point) by the tour operator.
"Russian tour operators, travel agents: suspend the formation and sale of tourist products, as well as certain tourist services to the Italian Republic, the Republic of Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran temporarily, until the epidemiological situation in these countries normalizes,” the department said in a statement.
It also notes that travel agencies are required to inform Russian tourists who have concluded and/or plan to conclude contracts for the sale of tourism products to the Italian Republic, the Republic of Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran about the current epidemiological situation in these countries, the procedure for changing (replacing the destination (vacation destination), postponing the travel dates, etc.
"Rostourism reminds tour operators and travel agents that, in the current circumstances, Russian tourists have the unconditional right to demand termination of the contract for the sale of a tourist product or a change in its terms due to a significant change in the circumstances from which the parties proceeded when concluding it (deterioration of travel conditions, etc.) (Articles 10, 14 of Law No. 132-FZ, Article 451 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation). When such a contract is terminated before the start of the trip, the tourist and (or) other customer a sum of money equal to the total price of the tourist product is returned, and after the start of the trip - its part in an amount proportional to the cost of services not provided to the tourist (Article 14 of Law No. 132-FZ),” Rostourism emphasized.
